On arrival at Akumal, we were again fully briefed on how to use the snorkels and fitted with life jackets. We had been told that we couldn't - and indeed mustn't- take our phones but not to worry because the company had an excellent photographer, our own personal 'papparazzo'. There was then a slightly forced photoshoot on the beach. After that we boarded a little boat and were taken out to a point beyond the snorkelling area and jumped in.…”

“Amazing reef dive! This was a great way to experience scuba diving near playa del Carmen. You’re taken out on a boat to the site you you need to get to the boat offshore so bring a dry bag if you want to bring stuff on the boat because you’ll be walking through the waves to get the boat.”

“What I appreciate most about Mexico Kan tours is their focus on sustainable tourism practices. They had us rinse off and let us know that wearing sunblock and bug repellents into the water has harmed the aquatic life (in fact, they no longer do turtle tours as sea turtles have developed tumors with increased tourism and chemicals in their environment). Everything ran on time, all equipment was ready and in good condition, and we had yummy homemade snacks and lunch. I would highly recommend this tour!”
