“Wonderful day traveling with a dozen others in a comfortable van. Our guide Jorge was terrific; kind, attentive, and very informative as a mammalogist with knowledge and interest in local ecology. We saw a large flock of flamingos as well as roseate spoonbills—also a crocodile on a short tour of the mangroves. Lunch on the beach was delicious under a shady palapa and the Gulf of Mexico was beautiful and calm. The young and old in our group all greatly enjoyed the day.”

“Our tour guide Alejandra was excellent. She was very knowledgeable, very nice, and made the tour a lot of fun. Our driver Pedro was also very nice and the two of them both took some time to think over our dietary restrictions to offer us some great options when we asked for local food recommendations. The boat tour of the reserve was a lot of fun, although we had less time on the water than I was expecting (also if your group is less than 5 or 6 people, the boat ride itself might not be just your group). The restaurant at Celestun that we were taken to is hit-or-miss…”

“Great boat tour of the Biosphere Reserve. Sadly there were very few flamingos due to the tides, but the boat ride was pleasant and the trip through the mangroves was very interesting. My only complaint is that the lunch was a little underwhelming and there is very little to do in Celestun except the beach. I would still recommend this trip to other, but if you're not much of a beach person I would recommend bringing something to read or occupy your time.”

“We had a super day communing with nature and enjoying time on the beach. The minibus that transported us was clean and surprisingly spacious (we travelled with a lovely family from the US). Our guide Eff was kind and informative and we got close to numerous bird varieties (flamingos aplenty) crocs and fish. Definitely worth the visit.”
